Note

Samples that have already been disposed of will not be able to have the transfer, dispose, or create manifest actions performed on them.

Samples will normally only have one trackable instance (e.g., the Primary Sample); however, in some instances, an aliquot might have to be taken from the primary sample. While this aliquot is not recorded on the order in the system, it might be necessary to track the storage of this additional container. This is done by creating an additional trackable instance of the sample on the Sample Inquiry Pop-up This additional trackable instance is associated with the same sample ID, but can be transferred and disposed of separately from the primary sample.

Tube/Container TypeDisplays the tube/container type for the sample.
Patient NameDisplays the patient's name.

As is the case for any metacontainer ID that appears anywhere within the system, the ID of each metacontainer in the storage hierarchy brings up the context menu for that metacontainer.

  • If the container is disposed, the column displays "Yes."
  • If the container is not disposed, the column displays "No."
