Technical Manual
Metacontainer Type | Displays the metacontainer type that defines the layout and what other tube/container types or other metacontainer types can be transferred into this instance. Once a metacontainer instance is created, its type cannot be changed. |
---|---|
Identifier | Displays the unique identifier for the metacontainer generated upon creation according to the ID generation format defined on the System Defaults administration page. The identifier can be printed on labels and bar code scanned or manually searched for within the program. |
Description | Enter additional text that helps identify the metacontainer. The identifier and metacontainer type do not always give enough context as to what the specific metacontainer represents. For example, a metacontainer might have a type of Refrigerator and an ID of REF-123, and this field allows the fridge to be identified as Special Chemistry Fridge. |
Disposable | Select this checkbox to mark the metacontainer as non-disposable to prevent the accidental disposal of itself and all its contents. This is useful for reusable metacontainers that are not disposed of regularly. If a metacontainer has been marked as non-disposable, its contents can still easily be disposed of. Note Disposability of metacontainers indicates whether the metacontainer can be marked for disposal on the Dispose Metacontainer Pop-up. If a metacontainer has been marked as non-disposable and needs to be disposed of, it can be edited to be disposable. The header is selectable. When selected, it selects or clears the Disposable checkboxes for all visible metacontainers in the table. |
Transferable | Select this checkbox to mark the metacontainer as non-transferable to prevent the accidental transfer of it into other metacontainers. Once the initial structure of all metacontainers is defined, immobile metacontainers, such as refrigerators and departments, will likely never need to be transferred and can be flagged as non-transferable. If a metacontainer has been marked as non-transferable, its contents can still easily be transferred. The header is selectable. When selected, it selects or clears the Transferable checkboxes for all visible metacontainers in the table. |
Reprint Label | Select Print Label to print labels from the Print Labels pop-up.
The header is selectable. When selected, it prints labels for all visible metacontainers in the table. |
