Use the Sample Collection page to create or modify the desired collection information for this order choice.

You must have the necessary security permissions to access the Sample Collection page.

Adding or Editing Sample Collection Information
To edit the sample collection fields, highlight or delete text already displayed in the fields, then modify as desired.
| Tube/Container Type | Select the type of container. If you cannot find the desired tube/container type, you may create a new tube/container type in the Tube/Container Types page. See the Tube or Container Types topic. |

| Sample Type | Select the type of sample. If you cannot find the desired sample type, you may create a new sample type in the Sample Types page. See the Sample Types topic. |
| Storage Temperature | If your facility is using the Freezer Storage module, you may select the temperature of storage from this drop-down list. If you cannot find the desired storage temperature, you may create a new storage temperature in the Storage Temperatures page. See the Storage Temperatures topic. |
| Tube/Container Count | Enter the number of containers required for this order choice. You must use a numeric value. The system defaults to one. |
| Minimum Required Yield | Enter the minimum volume needed for the sample associated with this order choice. The system uses this value in conjunction with the Maximum Yield and Units fields for the tube/container type to estimate the container count for each sample on an order. |
| Yield Per Order Choice | Enter a value that will be multiplied by the number of order choices tested on the aliquot to calculate the amount to be aliquotted. If the calculated yield is less than the Minimum Required Yield value, the minimum yield will be used. If the calculated yield is more than the Maximum Yield value, the maximum yield will be used. Note This field is only available when setting up collection information for an aliquot group. |
| Collection Interval ___ minutes | Enter, in minutes, the interim between multiple collections. You must use a numeric value. The system defaults to zero. |
| Sample ID Suffix | Enter a sample ID suffix for order choices with multiple containers. If your facility is using the Freezer Storage module, assign a suffix to each storage order choice, and use a separator at the beginning of the suffix (e.g., -01 or .01). |
| Protect from light | Select this checkbox if the sample requires light protection. |
| Is combinable | Select this checkbox to allow multiple tests to be performed on a sample. Clear this checkbox to restrict the system from allowing multiple tests. If your facility is using Freezer Storage module, clear this checkbox for storage order choices. Limit combinability based on volume: Select this checkbox to limit the combinability of order choices onto a single sample by comparing the combined minimum yields with the container's maximum yield. When the setting is selected, order choices only combine to aliquot samples if the aliquot tube/containers have a large enough yield to support all order choices. This is determined by taking the number of order choices to be tested on the aliquot, multiplying by the yield per order choice value, and comparing the result with the aliquot tube/container's maximum yield. If the result is greater than the maximum yield, then the order choices cannot be combined onto the same sample. |
| Sample Instructions | Enter or modify additional collection information in the field. The system displays this information in the Instructions field on the Collect Samples page. See the Collect Samples topic. |
| Display Instructions | Select the checkboxes that apply:

| Default Aliquot Group | Select inside the search field to search for a default aliquot group, or select the magnifying glass icon to search manually. This is a search-as-you-type field. Aliquot Group is combinable: Select the checkbox to designate that the selected aliquot group is combinable with other orders. See the Combining Aliquot Groups page for more information.

| Source Site | Select inside the search-as-you-type field to search for a source site for the sample. Or select the magnifying glass icon to search manually. |
| Collection Method | Select inside the search-as-you-type field to select a collection method for sample collection, or select the magnifying glass icon to search manually. |
| AP Part Assignment | Select an option from the drop-down list. Select either Repeat for Assigned Parts or Assign Manually from the list. This allows for the specification of repeating for assigned parts or by assigning parts manually when collecting a sample. When you select Repeat for Assigned Parts, a collection container will be created for every specimen part on an AP case. |
| OK | Select to record changes and return to the Order Choices details page. |
| Cancel | Select to return to the Order Choices details page without saving any changes. See the Order Choices topic. |
