If the sample type is inactive, the system clears it from the Sample Types list page when you select the Show active only checkbox. |

Host Codes for this Sample Type | In this section, add or edit the host code information for the sample type. If there is no host code for a sample type, the system sends the name of the sample type instead in the HL7 transmission. Show active hosts only: Select the checkbox to view only active hosts. Set the active/inactive status in the Host Details section of the Hosts details page. See the Hosts topic. To add host codes, enter the codes for the sample type in the Host Code fields next to the desired host names. These host codes must be unique for each host across sample types. For example, you may not use the host code 123 for Host A for both Sample Type 1 and Sample Type 2. If you try to save a host code that is identical to another code for the same host for two sample types, the system displays a warning message that details where up to 10 conflicts lie and prompts you proceed with saving the host codes or not. |
Instrument Type Codes for this Sample Type | In this section, you can define the code to send to the device engine for the sample type and each instrument type, as well as additional information to be sent with the code. Instrument Type Name: Displays the instrument name. Instrument Type Code: Enter the code to send to the device engine.
