Description
Use the Account Number pop-up to correct or manually override automatic account number assignments.
Note
You can update the account number or billing preference for a lab during order entry; however, changes won't appear on the user-level Lab Accounts page until you sign out and sign back in.
Access
TaskCenter > Manage Orders > Order Patient Samples > select a lab account number in the Account column
Note
This is only available if the billing column for an order choice is set to Client Bill.

Account Number
Modify the automatically assigned lab account number by changing the account number or billing preference for the selected account number.
You may also select a different level of billing, if available. In some cases you cannot select a different level of billing:
- You may not assign a location-level account number if there is a user-level account number unless you've selected the override setting for the location. See Location Lab Accounts.
- You may not assign a practice-level account number if there is a location-level or a user-level account number.
Lab | Displays the lab currently assigned to perform the testing. If the lab requires you to select an account number for the test, "(account number required)" appears after the name of the lab. You can't save the order without selecting a billing account number. |

Ordering Provider | Select this option and enter the account number for the ordering provider. You can also select a billing preference: Client or Direct. |
Ordering Location | Select this option and enter the account number for the ordering location. You can also select a billing preference: Client or Direct. |
Ordering Practice | Select this option and enter the account number for the ordering practice. You can also select a billing preference: Client or Direct. |
Patient Insurance | Select this option and enter the account number for the patient insurance. You can also select a billing preference: Client or Direct. |
Buttons
Save | Select this button to save the modifications to the lab account numbers and return to the Order Patient Samples page. Note If you are viewing the account number information for an order with a status of "Complete," you can't save any changes to this page. |
