Retain Current Scheduled Next Date's Time: If a QC is scheduled to run but the server is down, the QC will order once the server comes back up. All future scheduled QC will order at this new date and time. To have all future scheduled QC retain the initially defined time, select the Retain Current Scheduled Next Date's Time checkbox.

Enter values in the Next Date fields in the format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM. Select the calendar icon to manually enter the date/time. Select Now to enter the current date/time, or select Clear to clear the fields. The system populates the Next Date fields if it is left blank.

This pop-up gives the user the ability to define how often a schedule should run using the standard schedule management system and how long a schedule should run using the Range of Recurrences section. This area allows users to set either a total number of times they want the schedule to run, a specific amount of time in the future, or a date at which the schedule should stop running. Users can also define excluded dates for a schedule, which are dates the schedule will not run.

Select the End After ___ recurrences option, followed by entering a value in the field, to specify when the schedule should end after a certain amount of occurrences.

Select the Continue recurrences for a total of ___ ___ to specify how long occurrences should continue.

Select the End By option, followed by entering values in the fields, to specify when the QC schedule should end. This appears in the format MM/DD/YYYY. Select the calendar icon to manually enter the date/time. Select Now to enter the current date, or select Clear to clear the fields.

To define these dates, select the Exclude Dates button at the bottom of the Edit Schedule pop-up. This button opens a pop-up that gives the user the ability to define a date and add it to the list of dates that should be excluded in the Exclude Date fields. Select Now to enter the current date, or select Add to a year. Select Remove to remove the values from the fields.

On this pop-up, there is a second list of uneditable dates that displays the hosts Lab Closed Dates button. There is also an option called Also exclude lab closed dates, which if selected, then a schedule will not be run on those dates as well as any defined excluded dates.

Select Save to save changes made on the pop-up, or select Cancel to close the pop-up without making changes.

Note

The hosts and lab closed dates listed on this pop-up are based on the instruments that have been assigned to this schedule. If a user does not assign any instruments before creating a schedule, this list will be blank; however, if they select the option and then assign instruments, the associated hosts to those instruments will still be used for the lab closed dates.

Once the user saves the Edit Schedule pop-up, the QC Schedule Summary pop-up populates the Schedule Pattern with a human-readable version of the schedule that has been setup and show the number of occurrences left for this schedule. If excluded dates were added to the schedule, a link will be in the pattern section called Excluding these dates. This link can be selected to display and edit the dates on this schedule. The Scheduled Orders table will also now display all the dates and times each schedule will run in the future. If a schedule occurs more than 1,000 times, the table will only show 1,000 and the pattern will state that it is occurring more than 1,000 times. Once a schedule goes below the 1,000 mark, it will be tracked in greater detail.

The Existing Orders table in the QC Schedule Summary displays the date and time for all orders that this schedule created and the instruments associated to those orders.

Schedule History: The History table on a schedule will start to be populated as soon as the schedule is saved for the first time. This field will track the following types of history:

  • New Pattern: This history record displays the schedule pattern for the point in time when it was created. Any time the pattern is altered, a new history record of this type will be created.
  • Ordered: Displays when the schedule created an order.
  • Scheduled: Displays when the next schedule will be running after creating a new order.
  • Ordered Final: Displays when the last order was created for this schedule.
  • Scheduled Closed: Tracks when the schedule is set to inactive. This can happen in several different ways: the user manually sets it to inactive, the schedule reaches the end of its life span, or the QC lot expired, etc.
  • Schedule Ended: This record marks the end of the schedules life span.
  • QC Lot Expired: Assigned to all schedules on a QC lot that has expired.
  • Excluded Dates: Displays a button that shows an uneditable version of the Exclude Dates pop-up that displays the dates that were excluded on this schedule at that point in time.
  • Instruments: Displays a button that shows an uneditable version of the Instruments pop-up that displays the instruments that were on this schedule at that point in time. The History table tracks the schedule using a snapshot of what things looked like at that point in time; it is not a change log.
  • Lab Closed Dates: Along with the QC Scheduler, the ability to define a host-level Lab Closed Dates was also added. The new feature can be accessed by going to the Hosts administration page and selecting the Add button followed by the Lab Closed Dates button in the Lab-specific Settings section. When this button is selected, a new pop-up will be displayed that lists all lab closed dates, the date's description, and an Edit button allowing the date to be updated as needed. Along with the list of closed dates are two buttons that allow users to add a new date and delete any selected dates from the list. This feature currently only applies to the Scheduled QC feature.
ActiveSelect this checkbox to have the system only display active schedule patterns. When the checkbox is cleared, the Edit Schedule button is disabled.
SaveSelect this button to save changes made on the QC Schedule Summary pop-up.
CancelSelect this button to close the pop-up without saving changes made on the QC Schedule Summary pop-up.
