Description

Use the Patient Aliases page to view, add, or delete alternate names for the patient. You may also choose to use any patient alias as the name the system uses for the patient throughout the program. On the System Defaults administration page, a system administrator may choose to enable a setting that automatically stores changes to patient names on the Demographics page as patient aliases. To view patient aliases when searching, you must first add Matching Aliases to the column view rules for the Patient Search page. When the system sends HL7 messages, it sends alias information in the PID-9 segment.
