Description

Use the Linked Documents page to link one or more external result or other document files to an existing order choice, order, or patient. You may also add additional or replace existing files if you have already linked documents. If you have the necessary security settings, you may delete linked documents from orders, order choices, or patients.

Note

You must have the necessary right associated with your assigned role to view the Linked Docs button.



Technical Manual

Locate and label the result, order, order choice, or patient file you wish to link.

Choose FileSelect this button to select an image file.
Acquire Image

Select this button to open the Set TWAIN Device pop-up to select a device to acquire an image.

Acquire Multiple Images

Select this button to open the Set TWAIN Device pop-up to select a device to acquire multiple images.

Switch to browser upload

Switch to TWAIN application

Select this link to change your upload option.


Preview

Remove All

Select this button to remove all images from the page.

Remove SelectedSelect this button to remove only the selected images.
Convert Selected into Single PDF

Select this button to convert the selected images into PDF format.

SelectSelect a checkbox in this column to select an image.
Description

Enter information about the linked document. This will help you identify which document is which, without having to actually view the linked document.

Captions

Select this button to display the Captions pop-up to add top and bottom captions for the uploaded image.

  • Enter text into the Top Caption field to create a caption that appears at the top of the image.
  • Enter text into the Bottom Caption field to create a caption that appears at the bottom of the image.
  • Select ... to open the Quick Comments pop-up to add quick comments, select a delimiter, and to postpend/prepend/replace other comments.
  • Select Save to add captions to the image.
  • Select Cancel to close the pop-up without adding captions to the image.
SortSelect the up or down arrow buttons to adjust the image order.
RemoveSelect this button to remove the image from the list.
Is Reportable

Select this checkbox to mark that the order is reportable. If a linked document is marked as reportable, it will not be sent without the delivery method supporting it.

Selecting this checkbox enables the Apply Reportable button at the bottom of the page.

Link Result Documents

Select this option to indicate that you are linking result documents. This is the default selection.

The program activates the appropriate section of the page based on your selection.

Link Order Choice Documents

Select this option to indicate that you are linking order choice documents (e.g., requisitions, form letters, consult reports).

The program activates the appropriate section of the page based on your selection. 

Link Order Documents

Select this option to indicate that you are linking order documents (e.g., a scan of a paper requisition).

The program activates the appropriate section of the page based on your selection.

Link Patient Documents

Select this option to indicate that you are linking patient documents.

The program activates the appropriate section of the page based on your selection.

 


Linked Result Documents: Order choice(s) to link the document to

Select one or more order choices to attach the file to and set the order choice status and priority.

Order choice checkbox

Select the checkbox next to each order choice you want to link the result document to.

Status drop-down list

Select an option from this drop-down list to set the order choice status: Preliminary or Final. This field is required.

Severity drop-down list

Select an option from this drop-down list to set the order choice severity: NormalAbnormal, or Final.

Keep 

Replace

Select an option for each existing linked document to indicate whether the new result document should be linked in addition to or in place of the existing document. This field is required.

If there are existing linked documents, you may select the document ID to view their contents on the View Linked Document Pop-up.


Linked Order Choice Documents: Order Choice(s) to link the document to

Select one or more order choices to attach the file to.

Order choice checkboxSelect the checkbox next to each order choice you want to link the document to.
Document NameSelect the document name link to open the View Linked Document Pop-up, where you can view the document.

Apply ReportableSelect this button to save changes made to the Is Reportable checkbox.

Proceed With Link

Select this button to link the result, order, or patient documents to the order choice, order, or patient and return to the Order Patient Samples page.

Don't Add Linked DocumentsSelect this button to cancel linking the files.
