Description
Use the Insurance Search page to select the desired insurance company or plan from the list of companies or plans that matched your search or search for a company or plan. Once you select a company, you must select an insurance plan for the company or create a new plan.
Note
If you access the search page from the Insurance administration page, the system displays Inactive next to inactive insurance companies and plans; however, if you access the search page from the Insurance page from the main TaskCenter menu, the system does not display in the list any insurance companies or plans that have been inactivated on the Insurance administration page.
Access
- Enter one or more characters in the Insurance Company search-as-you-type field on TaskCenter > Patient Info > Insurance page, AdminCenter > Patient Setup > Insurance, or AdminCenter > Monitor > Change Log administration pages.
- Enter one or more characters in the Insurance Plan search-as-you-type field on TaskCenter > Patient Info > Insurance page, AdminCenter > Patient Setup > Insurance, or AdminCenter > Monitor > Change Log administration pages.
- Select Assign Plan to a different Company located at the bottom of AdminCenter > Patient Setup > Insurance administration page.
- Enter one or more characters in the search field for either insurance companies or insurance plans to search on the Edit Order Entry Rules administration pages.

Selecting an Insurance Company Search Result
If there was at least one match to your insurance company search, the system displays the matching insurance companies when the page appears.
Note
If you access the search page from the Insurance administration page, the system displays Inactive next to inactive insurance companies and plans; however, if you access the search page from the Insurance page from the main TaskCenter menu, the system does not display in the list any insurance companies or plans that have been inactivated on the Insurance administration page.
The page contains a list of up to 10 insurance companies and plans and their details. The list of insurance companies that a plan can be reassigned to only contains companies that belong to the same practice the plan does. If the list is longer than one page, use the page number links, located below the list of companies and plans to navigate through the list. If there are more page links than can fit on the page at once, the system displays a field. Enter a number in this field and press the Enter key on the keyboard to immediately open the selected page.
| New Company and Plan | Select to create a new company using the Insurance Plan page. See the Insurance Plan topic. Select the name of a company to select that insurance company for the patient. The system adds the name of the selected insurance company in bold-italics at the top of the Insurance Companies and Plans section. Once you select a company, you must select an insurance plan for the company. If one or more plans exist for the company, the system lists them after you select the company. |

Selecting an Insurance Plan Search Result
Note
If there was at least one match to your insurance plan search, or if you searched for and selected an insurance company (see "Selecting an Insurance Company Search Result" above), the system displays the matching insurance plans and their associated companies when the page appears. Each plan is listed with the company name, plan name, company phone, contact name, contact phone, and company address.
Select the name of a plan to view or edit the insurance company and plan information before selecting the plan in the Insurance Plan page. See the Insurance Plan topic.
