Description

The Reagent Lots page allows the user to view the list of reagent lots that have already been created in the table.

Access

AdminCenter > Instrument Setup > Reagent Lots

Note

The user must have the role View/Edit Reagent Lots enabled in order to access this page.

Reagent Lot List

Active

Select the Active checkbox to filter the table by reagent lots that are active in the system.

Reagent Name

Enter a name in the field to filter the table by a specific reagent lot name.

Lot Number

Enter a number in the field to filter the table by a specific reagent lot number.

Add

Select to add a new reagent lot. 

Note

The user can edit a new lot by selecting the name of the lot they wish to edit.

CopySelect the button in the  column to copy an existing reagent lot. When a reagent lot is copied, the name, order choice, instruments, active status, and additional info for the reagent lot will be copied. Additionally, when copying a reagent lot, the user will be asked whether or not they would like to copy the alerts and comments for the reagent lot as well.
Refresh

Select to automatically refresh the table in order to display new results based on new filter criteria.

NameThis column displays the name of the lot.
Lot NumberThis column displays the lot number.
InstrumentsThis column displays the instrument(s) for the reagent lot.
OpenedThis column displays the date that the reagent lot was opened.
ClosedThis column displays the date that the reagent lot was closed.
ExpiresThis column displays when the reagent lot expires.
Validated DateThis column displays the date when the reagent lot was validated.
Validated ByThis column displays the name of the person that validated the reagent lot.
ActiveThis column displays that the reagent lot is active in the system.
Copy

Select the button to display the Copy alerts and comments? pop-up.

  • Select Yes to copy the alerts and comments for the selected reagent lot.
  • Select No to close the pop-up without copying the reagent lot.

Reagent Lot Details


Reagent Name

Enter the reagent name in the field. This is a required field.

Lot Number  

Enter the reagent lot number in the field. This is a required field.

Manufacturer Expiration Date

Enter a date/time value in the field to filter the table by the manufacturer's expiration date for the reagent lot.

  • Select Now to enter the current date/time.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
  • Select the calendar icon to manually enter the date/time.
Quality Control Due Date

Enter a date/time value in the field to indicate the quality control due date for the reagent lot.

  • Select Now to enter the current date/time.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
  • Select the calendar icon to manually enter the date/time.
Instruments

Select to open the Reagent Lot Instruments pop-up where the user must specify the instrument type in the Instrument Type search-as-you-type field that the reagent lot will support. The instrument type will be limited to only the instrument types that have panel tests for the currently selected order choice (if an order choice has already been selected). 

  • Select the Show active only checkbox to only show active instruments.
  • Select in or enter text in the Testing Section search-as-you-type field to search for and select a testing section. This is a user-defined field. For example, it can be changed to Bench, etc.
  • Once the instrument type is specified, the user can then select the individual instruments that should be used by the lot by selecting the checkbox in the Select column.
  • After the instruments have been selected, the order choices that can be selected from the Order Choice search-as-you-type will be limited to only the order choices that have panel tests defined for the selected instrument type.
  • Select Save to save the changes made on the pop-up.
  • Select Cancel to close the pop-up without making any changes to the instrument type. 

This is a required field.

Order Choices  

Select to open the Reagent Lot Order Choices pop-up. Select in or enter text in the search-as-you-type field to search for a specific name, abbreviation, CPT code, local name, collection location, and active status.

  • Select the Select checkbox to select the item.
  • Select Save to save changes.
  • Select Cancel to close without saving changes.

This is a required field.

Allow QC results that were performed on instruments not assigned to this lot to match to this lot

Select the checkbox to allow QC results that were performed on instruments that were not assigned to the lot to match the lot. When this checkbox is cleared, the system will only add results to the reagent lot for instruments assigned to the lot. When the checkbox is selected, the system adds results to the reagent lot for instruments that are not assigned to the lot.

Active  

Select the checkbox to specify that the reagent lot is active in the system.

Lot Opened  

Enter a date in the fields in the format MM/DD/YYYY to specify when the lot was opened.

  • Select Now to enter the current date.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
Lot Closed

Enter a date in the fields in the format MM/DD/YYYY to specify when the lot was closed.

  • Select Now to enter the current date.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
Lot Expires

Enter a date in the fields in the format MM/DD/YYYY to specify when the lot expires.

  • Select Now to enter the current date.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
Reference Ranges

Enter the reagent lot reference range values that the system will send to the instruments if required. 

  • Low Range ___ to ___: Enter a value in the low lower range field and a value in the low upper range field.
  • Normal Range ___ to ___: Enter a value in the normal lower range field and a value in the normal upper range field.
  • High Range ___ to ___: Enter a value in the high lower range field and a value in the high upper range field.
Alerts & Comments 

Select to view any alerts or comments that have been defined for the reagent lot.

  • Select OK to return to the Reagent Lot Details page.
  • Select Cancel to return to the Reagent Lot Details page without adding an alert or comment.
  • Select Add to add an alert or comment via the Alerts & Comments  pop-up.
  • Once the alert or comment has been entered into the field, select Save to add the alert or comment to the page.
Additional Info  

Select to display the Additional Information pop-up.

  • Select Acquire Images to display the Set TWAIN Device pop-up.
    • Select the TWAIN device to use by selecting the button with the name of the device. For example, HP HD Webcam TWAIN.
    • Select Device to view the name of the device.
    • Select Format and Preference to edit device properties.
    • Select Snapshot to take the picture.
    • Select Cancel to close the pop-up.
  • Select the Switch to browser upload link to upload an image from the computer via the Choose File button. Select the Switch to TWAIN application link to view the Acquire Images button.
  • Select Remove All to remove all images from the table.
  • Select Remove Selected to remove only the selected images from the table.
  • Select Convert Selected into Single PDF to convert the selected images into a single PDF.
  • Select the Select checkbox to select images from the table.
  • Sort the images by selecting the up and down arrow buttons.
  • Select X to delete the images from the table.
  • Select OK to add the images to the page.
  • Select Cancel to close the pop-up without saving any changes.

Validation

Date

Enter a date in the fields in the format MM/DD/YYYY to specify when the lot was validated.

  • Select Now to enter the current date.
  • Select Clear to clear the fields.
User  

Select inside or enter text into the search-as-you-type field to select the user that validated the reagent lot.

Find QC Results  

Select to open the Add QC Results pop-up to add and edit QC results.

  • Select inside or enter text into the Order Choice search-as-you-type field to select an order choice.
  • Select inside or enter text into the Instrument Type search-as-you-type field to select an instrument type for the QC results.
  • Select inside or enter text into the Instrument search-as-you-type field to select an instrument for the QC results.
  • Select inside or enter text into the Location search-as-you-type field to select a location for the QC results.
  • Select an option from the Filter date range as drop-down list to specify the date range to filter by. Select either Run Date/Time or Reviewed Date/Time from the drop-down list.
  • Enter a date/time in the Start fields to specify a start date/time range in the format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM to filter by. 
    • Select Now to enter the current date.
    • Select Clear to clear the fields.
  • Enter a date/time in the End fields to specify an end date/time range in the format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM to filter by. 
    • Select Now to enter the current date.
    • Select Clear to clear the fields.
  • Select Save to save the changes made on the pop-up.
  • Select Cancel to close the pop-up without making any changes.
Instrument NameThis column displays the name of the instrument.
LevelThis column displays the testing level of the lot (high, normal, low, etc.).
TestThis column displays the name of the test.
ResultThis column displays the result of the test.
RangeThis column displays the range of the test.
Run Date/TimeThis column displays the date/time the test was ran.
QC LotThis column displays the QC lot number.
LocationThis column displays the location of the test.
Reviewed Date/TimeThis column displays the date/time the test was reviewed.
Reviewed ByThis column displays the name of the person that reviewed the test.
RemoveSelect X to remove the lot from the table.
Reagent Lot Number

This column displays the linked reagent lot number received with the approved QC result.

Approved and completed QC will automatically link to the reagent lot only if the HL7 result message that was parsed contains a reagent lot number that matches an existing reagent lot in the system.

Save  

Select to save any changes made on the Reagent Lot Details page.
