Use the Medications Index page to manage medications in the system.

Technical Manual
Medications
| Show active only | Select the checkbox to have the system only show active medications. |

| Select the checkbox to have the system only show entries that do not have class information. | |
| Medication name | Enter text in the search-as-you-type field to search for and select a specific medication name. |
| Medication class | Enter text in the search-as-you-type field to search for and select a specific medication class. |
| Medication by Metabolite | Enter text in the search-as-you-type field to search for and select a medication based on the metabolite. |
| Add | Select to add a new medication to the medication index. |
| Only show Favorites for | Select an option from the drop-down list. Select All or a specific favorite from the drop-down list. |
| Refresh | Select to manually refresh the table of medications. |
| Clear | Select to manually clear all results from the table of medications. |
| Show ____ entries | Enter a value in the field to configure how many medication entries appears in the medication table appear at once. |
| Name | Displays the medication name. |
| Class | Displays the medication class. |
| Favorite List | Displays the name of the favorites list, if applicable. |
| Active | Displays whether the medication is active in the system. |
Medication Details
| Expand All | Select to expand all sections on the page. |

| Collapse All | Select to collapse all sections on the page. |
| Name | Enter the medication name in the field. This is a required field. |
| Abbreviation | Enter an abbreviation for the medication in the field. This is a required field. |
| Active | Select the checkbox to specify that the medication in active in the system. This ensures that the medication appears when searching. |
| Alias List | Displays a list of aliases. |
| Alias Value | Enter text in the field to search for and select an alias value. You can add the same alias to different medications. |
| Add | Select to add the alias to the table. |
| X | Select to remove the alias from the table. |
| Alias | Displays the alias value. |
| Report Name | Enter text in the field to specify the name of the report. |
| Favorites List | Displays a list of favorite medications. |
| Testing Facility | Select in or enter text in the field to search for and select the name of a testing facility. |
| X | Select to remove the testing facility from the table. |
Medication Class & Metabolites
| Create New Class | Select to create a new class on the Medication Class pop-up. Enter text into the Class Name field. This is a required field. Select the Active checkbox to make the new class active in the system. Select Save to add the new class, or select Cancel to close the pop-up without creating a new class. Select Change Log to view the Change Log. |

| Medication Class | Select or enter text into the Medication Class search-as-you-type field to search for and select a medication class to add. Select the magnifying glass icon to manually search for a medication class. Select the X to remove a medication class from the table. The table displays the name and active status of the medication class. |
| Class Name | Displays the name of the class. |
| Create New Metabolite | Select to create a new metabolite on the Metabolite pop-up. Enter text into the Metabolite Name field. This is a required field. Select the Active checkbox to make the new metabolite active in the system. Select Save to add the new metabolite, or select Cancel to close the pop-up without creating a new metabolite. Select Change Log to view the Change Log. |
| Metabolites | Select or enter text into the Metabolites search-as-you-type field. Select the magnifying glass icon to manually search for metabolites. Select the Select checkbox to add or remove metabolites on the table. The table displays the name and active status of the metabolite(s). |
| Metabolite Name | Displays the name of the metabolite. |
| Metabolite Type | Displays the type of metabolite. |
Additional Medication Information
| Date and Time | Select the option from the drop-down list to require date/time for medication information. |

| Time | Select the option from the drop-down list to require the time for the medication information. |
| Enable | Select the checkbox to enable additional medication information on order entry. You can choose to enable the following:
Note The UCUM Units and Comments options will appear only if the Toxicology license is enabled. |
| Require | Select the checkbox to require additional medication information on order entry. You must first select the Enable checkbox to require the additional medication information. When you require any of the following information, the field will display red when adding medications on Order Patient Samples. You can choose to require the following:

Instrument Type Codes
| Instrument Type Codes | Select in or enter text into the search-as-you-type field to search for and select instrument type codes. Select the magnifying glass icon to manually search for instrument type codes. |

| Select | Select the checkbox to add or remove instrument type codes from the table. |
| Instrument Type | Displays the instrument type. |
| X | Select to remove the instrument type from the table. |
| Inbound ID | Enter the inbound ID into the field. |
| Outbound ID | Enter the outbound ID into the field. |
Host Codes
| Host Codes | Select in or enter text into the search-as-you-type field to search for and select host codes. Select the magnifying glass icon to manually search for host codes. |

| Select | Select the checkbox to add or remove host codes from the table. |
| X | Select to remove the host code from the table. |
| Host | Displays the host. |
| Inbound ID | Select Code List to open the Inbound Host Codes pop-up. Select in or enter text in the search-as-you-type field to search for and select host codes. Select Add to add the host code. Select OK to add the host code, or select Cancel to close the pop-up without adding the host code. |
| Outbound ID | Enter the outbound ID into the field. |
Buttons
| Save | Select to save all changes made on the Medications Index page. |
