Description
The Linearity page allows Testing Managers to input and review test linearity for a specific instrument and test. The Linearity Report pop-up is where linearity reports are generated, and it lists the data requested. A graph report is also available for the visualization of the linear graph.
- To create a new Linearity Report, select the Add button.
- To review and edit an existing Linearity Report, select on the report name.
The Linearity Report pop-up is used to input instrument data from linearity testing. The pop-up has two areas.
- Report Header
- Report Data

Linearity Reports List
Alerts & Comments | Select to display the alerts and comments page. If there are no alerts or comments for the instrument, a "No Alerts & Comments Defined" message is displayed.
|
---|---|
Report Name | Enter text into or select inside the field to filter the table by the name of the report. |
Instrument | Enter text into or select inside the field to filter the table by the type of instrument. |
Test | Enter text in to the field to filter the table by the type of test. |
Show... | Select an option from the drop-down list to specify what is displayed in the table. Select from the following options:
|
Show Reviewed Reports | Select the checkbox to have the table only display reports that have already been reviewed. |
Name | Displays the name of the report. Select the blue link to view details of the report on the Linearity Report pop-up. |
Instrument | Displays the type of instrument. |
Test | Displays the type of test. |
Complete Date/Time | Displays the date/time the report was completed. |
Add | Select to add a new linearity report via the Linearity Report pop-up. |

Linearity Report Pop-up
Report Header (All fields are required) | |
---|---|
Report Name | Enter text in to the field to specify the name of the report. |
Complete Date | Enter a date into the field to specify the date in which the report needs to be completed. The date appears in the format MM/DD/YYYY.
|
Instrument | Enter text or select into the field to search for a specific instrument to add to the report. This is a search-as-you-type field. Select the blue link to enter the instrument in to the field. Note that the Instrument field will filter the search results in the Test field, and selecting an instrument will clear the Test field forcing the test to always be related to the selected instrument. |
Test | Enter text in or select into the field to search for a specific test to add to the report. |
Levels | Enter a value into the field to configure the domain (x-axis) on the report graph. The Levels field requires a number greater than one. The Expected value for a level is the x-value for the data point. |
Runs | Enter a value into the field to configure the range (y-axis) on the report graph. The Runs field requires a number greater than one. The Mean value for a level, determined by averaging the run values, is the y-value for the data point. |
Reagent Lot # | Enter a value into the field to specify the reagent lot tracking number for the batch of reagent when it is made by the manufacturer. |
Reagent Expiration | Enter a value into the field to specify the reagent lot number expiration date in the format MM/DD/YYYY. The reagents expire at various times either after opening them or after reconstitution.
|
Report Data | |
---|---|
Level | Configures the domain (x-axis) on the report graph. Level rows are aligned vertically at the top. Row striping is applied (the last row is always darker, per UI standards). This is the level of control used, usually represented by High, Normal, or Low, or 1, 2, 3, etc. Levels are manually assigned by the tech building the controls or calibrators. |
Lot | Displays the lot tracking number for the batch of reagent, controls, or calibrators when it is made by the manufacturer. This requires a non-empty string. All other columns are numeric data and do not accept non-numeric characters. |
Expiration | Displays the expiration date for the lot number in the format MM/DD/YYYY. The reagents, controls, or calibrators expire at various times either after opening them or after reconstitution.
|
Expected | This is the expected result mean that the standards, calibrators, and sample level results are supposed to hit. This correlates with Allow. Var. and Type . |
Allow. Var. | Displays the allowance variation for the result. The allowed variance is the variability from the allowed mean. |
Type | Select an option from the drop-down list to choose an indicator that is assigned to what is being tested to define it as either control or calibrator material being tested. Select either option from the drop-down list:
|
Run | Configures the domain (y-axis) on the report graph. This column contains repeating inputs. The number of Runs in the report header determines how many there are. After all of the run values for a level are filled in, the mean is calculated automatically. Allows negative values. This is the number that the control or calibrator is running. First run results, second run results, third run results, etc. within a specific period of time. |
Suppress | Select the checkbox to withhold the selected results from all reports and graphs. |
Mean | Displays the value for a level, determined by averaging the run values, is the y-value for the data point. This is the result average for the level of control or calibrator. |
Graph Report | Select to display a report graph in a separate pop-up. The linearity report runs regression analytics on the data that is entered. This is a graph that shows visually how well the domain (expected value) predicts the range (mean of the run/observed values).
|
Mark Reviewed | Select to mark the report graph as having been reviewed. |
Save | Select to save changes made on the pop-up. |
Cancel | Select to close the pop-up without saving any changes. |
