Use the Interface Activity page to monitor inbound and outbound activity of each interface. When multiple hosts share the same MLP port, the system logs and archives the activity for that port for all hosts. All hosts being logged and archived on the same port will have the same information, as there is no way to distinguish which host the MLP activity is for.

Accessing this Page

  • Select the Administration menu button, select the Monitor button, and then select the Interface Activity submenu link. You must have the necessary security permissions to access the Administration menu button. When you select the Administration menu button, the system opens the main Administration menu, which contains administrative menu buttons, including the Monitor menu. To return to the main menu for the system, select the Tasks menu button.

Viewing Interface Activity

  1. Select an option from the drop-down field to view either Current Activity or an Archive File of interface activity. If you select Archive File, the Get File button appears. Select this button to open the Interface Activity Files pop-up, where you may select an archived file of interface activity. See "Selecting an Archive File" below.
  2. Select the Inbound or Outbound option.
  3. Select a host from the Host drop-down list.
  4. Double-click an activity to view the entire message in the Entry Detail section.
  5. Select Refresh to view the interface activity in the Interface Activity section. The system lists the time and defines the activity for each event.

Selecting an Archive File

  1. Once you select the Archive File option and select Get File, the system displays the Interface Activity Files pop-up. Note that you must select a host before the system can search for a file. See "Viewing Interface Activity" above.
  2. Enter a date range in the Start and End date fields, or select a date from the calendar view by selecting the calendar icon located next to the date fields.
  3. Select Refresh to view a list of inbound and/or outbound files for the selected host that fall within the date range.
  4. Select an entry in the Inbound Files or Outbound Files lists to view its details on the Interface Activity page. See "Viewing Interface Activity" above.
  5. If you do not see the desired file, modify the date range, or select Cancel to return to the Interface Activity page.
