Description
Use the Fix ADT page as a diagnostic tool to view, edit, rerun, delete, or reassign locations for the inbound messages the system could not parse. This can occur for several reasons, including cases where the host is not assigned to a practice or the system does not recognize the ordering location in the ADT message. For messages where the host is not associated with a practice, you must change the host settings so the system can process the message.
Access
- Select the Administration menu button, select the Manage button, and then select the Fix ADT submenu link. You must have the necessary security permissions to access the Administration menu button. When you select the Administration menu button, the system opens the main Administration menu, which contains administrative menu buttons, including the Manage menu. To return to the main menu for the system, select the Tasks menu button.
Fixing ADT Messages
- The Fix ADT administration page contains a list of up to 10 inbound messages that the system could not parse, sorted in descending order of their creation date. The system displays the Created date, Name of the patient, Error message, and Location Code of the location the system thinks the ADT message belongs to. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of messages, to navigate through the list. If there are more page links than can fit on the page at once, the system displays the Page field. Enter a number in this field and press the Enter key on the keyboard to immediately open the selected page.
- When you open this page, the system displays an arrow next to the first message in the list. After you have rerun a message (see below), the arrow points to the next message in the list if the message processed correctly. If the message still has an error, the arrow will continue to point to it.
- To modify the number of reports on the page, adjust the value of the Displaying __ per page field. The system defaults to 10 per page, and displays the total number of items based on your search.
- Filter the list by selecting or entering one or more of the following and then selecting Refresh.
- Select an option from the ADT Host drop-down list to narrow the list to the messages from a specific host. Select All to view all unparsed messages from all hosts.
- Enter one or more characters in the Location Code or Patient Name (first name; last name; or last name, first name) fields to limit the list by the selected fields.
- Select Edit to correct errors and rerun the message using the Message Detail pop-up. See the Edit ADT Message topic. Select Save to save changes, or select Close to close the pop-up.
- Select Select next to each message you wish to rerun, delete, or reassign (see below), and then select the Rerun Selected, Delete Selected, or Assign Selected to buttons.
- Select Rerun Selected to rerun the selected message(s). If the system processes the messages successfully, it notifies you with a pop-up message and removes the message from the ADT message list. If the process is unsuccessful, the system notifies you with a pop-up message and leaves the unprocessed message in the list.
- Select Delete Selected to immediately remove the selected message(s) from the list.
- Select Assign Selected to to assign the selected message(s) to the location displayed next to the Assign Selected to button. If you wish to assign the message to a different location, select the Choose New Location button to select a different location from the Location Search page. See the Location Search topic. Once you have selected the new location, select the Assign Selected to button to change the assigned location.
- Select Refresh to view changes in the Fix ADT list page.
- The ADT List table displays the following columns:
- Last Attempt: Displays the date/time of the last fix attempt.
- Patient Name: Displays the patient name.
- Error: Displays the error message.
- Location Code: Displays the location code.
- Edit: Select to edit on the Message Detail pop-up. Select Save to save any changes, or select Close to close the pop-up without saving changes.
- Select: Select the checkbox to select the row to do tasks.
- Single Rerun Status: Displays the rerun status. The column displays one of three messages: This message has already automatically rerun, This message has not automatically rerun, or This message will never automatically rerun.
