Use the Enter Specimen Part pop-up to enter specimen source and part information for the selected specimen on the Order Patient Samples page.

Category and Source | Select this option to enable the Category, Source, and Number of parts fields. |
Specimen Source Group | Select this option to enable the Group field. |
Case ID Override | Enter a value in the field to use as the Case ID. If this field is left blank, the Case ID will be generated upon save as normal. This field will display only for AP order choices if the Order Choice Type associated with the order choice has the setting Allow AP Case ID to be edited manually enabled. If you're manually entering a Case ID here, the system checks for duplicate IDs and will display an error message if it finds a Case ID that matches the one you enter. |
Category and Source Options
Category | Enter text or select in this search-as-you-type field to select the specimen source category, or select the search button to view a list of specimen source categories and if the specimen source category is active. |

Source | Enter text or select in this search-as-you-type field to select the specimen source, or select the search button to view a list of sources for the specimen. |
Number of parts | Enter the number of parts that you wish to be assigned to the specimen source. If you enter "3," there will be three pages of part information for the specimen. A specimen source group field will appear if a group exists. |
Specimen Source Group Options
Group | Enter text or select in this search-as-you-type field to select the specimen source group. |

Save | Select this button to open the Specimen Part Details Pop-up topic to enter additional details. | |

Cancel | Select this button to close out of the pop-up without making any changes. If multiple order choices requiring specimen part information are added simultaneously, selecting this button skips the current order choice and moves to the next one requiring specimen part information.
